As my 11-year-old daughter says, “my squad is lit.” LOL I don’t have a clue what that means except in my world that sounds like the equivalent to me saying, “my circle is the best!”
I had a group of women from church over today. Women that I’ve grown to love! Almost all of us had littles present. We all made food. We came together as sisters, friends and mamas. We all ate. The kids occupied one another and us ladies all sat around chatting over coffee and baked yums. Sounds like we’ve know each for 10 years yeah!?
You see, until about a month ago, even though we all go to church together, and have for YEARS, I barely knew a one of them. Then, a month ago, we all encountered something special. Something intense. Something life-changing, that bonded us together now, for life!
As we sat around drinking coffee, eating, laughing and soaking in all the wisdom (and toddlers) bouncing around, it occurred to me that the Titus 2 womanhood that I’ve SO desired over the last year or two, was happening in full motion! See, our ages range from 29 to…well, the new 29. 😉 Older and younger alike, all loving on each other. Sharing laughs, wisdom, failures, corrections and stories that uplift us. Through the help and presence of the Holy Spirit we empower, equip and encourage one another. We spent time praying for our husbands who are on their own life-changing journey this weekend. Just close your eyes and let that scene soak in for a minute. So rich! Oh man, I tell ya, my heart was as full as my coffee cup.
If you’ve not heard or learned about the Titus 2 living…let me share a nugget of goodness with you!
The whole goal of a Titus 2 woman is to train younger women in Biblical, simple-to-measure, Spirit-empowered, love-based living. In a family aspect, imagine a mother in law leading a daughter in law, then that daughter in law leading her own daughter, then the daughter of the the daughter in law leading her daughter when she has one…you get the idea. Living the Titus 2 life out loud, impacts GENERATIONS to come. It starts in the home and flows outward everywhere we go!
The women of faith, those who have already learned to love their husbands well, learned to love their children, and learned to be reverent, godly, modest and wise—are commanded to seek out and meet with every younger woman in the church. Other younger women in their life. Everywhere. It’s a ripple effect that changes hearts and lives.
It’s complete JOY, for every moment of our lives to have that “tribe” or sisterhood.
I don’t know about you, but it’s my goal to be a Titus 2 woman with a Proverbs 31 heart! 💕
If you don’t have a gal pal to live out loud with you as a Titus 2 woman…I totally volunteer!! We will have all the coffee and conversations. All the laughs and all the cries. Toddlers playing with baby chicks while mamas all coffee. I mean, we get REAL creative. And real and creative. Haha
But for real, I’m here! There’s a contact me page on my blog for a reason! 💗☕
Titus 2:3-5 New International Version (NIV)
3 Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Chew on this awhile and share your thoughts with me.
