Happy Monday friend!
I’ve made an intentional decision recently that instead of doing the “hustle and grind” because it’s Monday thing, I am going to spend Monday sitting with coffee + Jesus (#Wordbeforeworld), family, tidying up around our home, writing blog posts and working on my book project! Zero social media on Monday! So, this is day 1 of that choice. Pray for your sister! It can be so hard to unplug but with prayer and petition- all things are possible yes!? Yes!
I started my day with a devotional based on Isaiah 25:9 and I wanted to share what the Lord guided me to in that reading.
Isaiah 25:9 reads, “Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is the Lord! We have waited for him. We will be glad in rejoice in His salvation!”
My journal entry for this devotional was to think about others in scripture that were waiting on God’s help. I thought of guys like Daniel (in the Lions den) , David ( fighting goliath), Jesus himself ( in the wilderness being tempted by Satan ), Moses and Joshua (leading the Israelites out of Egypt), Joseph ( when his brothers sold him ) and Esther going to the king. I started to think about this verse in relation to anxiety in my life and I recalled several times when I was waiting on God in times of needing help. What God reminded me of was that every time I’ve waited on the Lord, he showed up! Just like he showed up for Daniel, David, Moses, Joseph, the Israelites, his son Jesus and Esther and many others in the Bible!
Our God is faithful to be with us in times of need. Even when we can’t feel him near or hear him. Although we can’t see him, he’s always near! That’s how our God is!
He has wonderful plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11)!
He saved us at the cross and he will save us in our daily troubles too. Our ever present help in trouble that loved us then, loves us now and will forever love us. He is worthy to be praised!
Have a Jesus – filled Monday friends!! ☕️ – oh and coffee. Have all the coffee.
Grit and grace,
